Carl D. Dawson
Carl D. Dawson is a civil litigator who has tried civil jury and bench trials since 1952. Carl is admitted to practice in the State of Florida and is a member of The Florida Bar and the American Bar. Carl is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the Federal 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, and United States Supreme Court. Carl is also a certified Civil Mediator servicing the 4th and 7th Circuits.
Carl was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, graduated from Florida Naval Academy, attended Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn) and then joined the United States Army. Upon leaving the service, Carl attended the University of Florida obtaining his LLB in 1951 and his Juris Doctorate Degree in 1967. Carl then returned to Jacksonville to practice law.
Over the years, Carl has limited his services to the civil practice of law. He has represented Plaintiffs and Defendants in tort, contract and statutory causes of actions arising out of auto accidents, train accidents, insurance disputes, residential and commercial construction, and malpractice claims (engineer, attorney, medical, legal, dental, accounting, and marine, etc.). In addition, Carl has personally handled all of his clients’ appellate work. Carl has achieved an AV® Preeminent™ rating from Martindale Hubbell.
Carl and his wife Jan reside in Jacksonville, Florida. When Carl is not in the office or at home with his wife, you can always find him on one of Florida’s many golf courses.
