Born and raised in Jacksonville, “Teddy” graduated from the University of Florida which he attended on a baseball scholarship. He was part of the 2005 SEC Championship team and national runner-up in the College World Series. He received a Bachelor of Arts in History while playing for the Gators and earned All-SEC Academic Honor Roll his last three years. After deciding not to pursue a professional baseball career, Teddy obtained his Masters of Science in Sport Management at the University of Florida, graduating in the top 3% of his class. In 2014, he earned his Juris Doctorate from Florida State College of Law. While in law school, Teddy married his wife Sarah. He also clerked for a second circuit judge, worked at the State Attorney’s Office, and worked at the United States Attorney’s Office in Tallahassee.
Teddy worked as a prosecutor at the State Attorney’s Office after law school. He tried 20 cases to verdict, including 19 jury trials. He joined The Firm in 2017. He brings a wealth of jury trial experience and knowledge of the trial process. His work encompasses all of the Firm’s Fortes with a special emphasis in Construction, Business, and Personal Injury Litigation.
In addition to his legal work, Teddy volunteers for American Cancer Society events such as Cowford Ball and Relay for Life. He has been a guest speaker at Five Star Veterans Center, spending time with homeless veterans who have mental and physical limitations. Teddy is also active in the Jacksonville Bar Association, Jacksonville Bar’s Young Lawyers Section, the Chester Bedell Inn of Court, and the Federalist Society.
In his down time, Teddy enjoys spending time with his family. His wife, Sarah, is also a Jacksonville native and attorney. His father is a fourth circuit judge in Nassau County and his mother is a former law clerk for the Honorable Susan Black and Honorable James Hill. He enjoys golfing and spending time outdoors with his wife, daughter Catherine, and their dachshund Beau.
