Michael Fox Orr

Michael Fox Orr has spent more than a decade trying significant civil jury and bench trials in Florida where he regularly litigates complex commercial and civil litigation with claimed or potential damages in excess of $1,000,000. Michael’s success in the courtroom and hard work for the profession have resulted in an extensive list of select professional distinctions and associations, some of which include:

Recently, the Fourth Judicial Circuit’s lawyers and judges elected Michael to represent their 4000+ members from Duval, Clay and Nassau County on The Florida Bar Board of Governors where he will serve as one of 52 elected to represent the nearly 110,000 lawyers in Florida.

While serving as one of the appointed lawyers reviewing, drafting and editing the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, Michael was honored with the opportunity to co-author the third chapter of Civil Trial Practice, “Trial by Court or by Jury,” published by The Florida Bar in conjunction with LexisNexis. Michael’s experience and the results he continues to obtain for his clients have resulted in his recognition as a Florida Super Lawyer (top 5% in Florida) with a feature in the Florida Super Lawyers Business Edition. Michael’s experience as a civil trial lawyer litigating cases with intricate issues and fact patterns has led to his representation of Fortune 500’s as well as businesses, professional associations and individuals from several states. In addition to trying jury trials in multiple counties and courts, Michael has argued before 4 of the 5 District Courts of Appeal in Florida, with successful opinions in each. Michael also teaches various classes and makes presentations related to the practice of law. He taught contract drafting to a group of in-house attorneys and has presented on the topic of Ethics and Professionalism in Law Office Management to Northeast Florida paralegals and law office managers. He has also served as a substitute professor in a legal course for accountants.
